I'll Tell You:

Isaac Kessler has been improvising, acting, writing, jewishing, basketballing, teaching, loving, fighting, directing and producing comedy for over 16 years. He is an internationally-acclaimed and multiple Canadian Comedy Award nominee (2012/14/15/19), nominated as Best Male Improviser in 2015. Isaac is an ACTRA union member in Canada and SAG-E in the U.S.

In the summer of 2022, Isaac debuted his first ever solo show, 1-MAN NO-SHOW. Forged in the theatrical kiln of Sweet Action Theatre under the Orange-Haired Eye of Gordon Neill, it received rave reviews and standing ovations at the Toronto Fringe, and won the Artists Pick Award at the Edmonton Fringe Festival, the largest theatre festival in North America.

He is one half of the award-winning juggernaut 2-MAN NO-SHOW alongside his comedic soulmate Ken Hall. They have wowed audiences and critics at North America’s top Comedy and Fringe Festivals, and performed a full run at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. 2-MAN NO-SHOW attack every stage with their signature hyperphysical, hilarious and fourth-wall-breaking ClownProv-style that is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. They were nominated for three Canadian Comedy Awards as Best Improv Troupe, Best Comedic Show, and Best Variety Act, and are two-time nominees as Toronto’s Best Improv Troupe by NOW Magazine. Check them out every month in Toronto at their power packed duo show PARTY HARD HARD PARTY.

Isaac is also a sought out award-winning director in the world of clown and interactive theatre. He directed Julia VanderVeen in her one woman show, "My Grandmother's Eyepatch," which has toured nationally and internationally, and was the recipient of the "Best Solo Clown" and "EstroGenius" awards in New York’s FRIGID Festival, 2022.

In the big wild world of physical theatre, Isaac has performed with the ground-breaking Wet The Hippo Collective by Cirque du Soleil’s John Gilkey, devised a brand new comedic play directed by Aitor Basauri, created absurdly awesome work under the eye of Dr. Brown AKA Phil Burgers, crushed at The Pack Theater in the joyful chaos that is SPEEDFACE, created full length comedic clown plays with FOUR CLOWNS and was invited to join Dean Evan’s visionary Bouffon troupe, MIL GRUS. Mil Grus completed an incredibly successful run at the Hollywood Fringe, where they won the Producer’s award, received stellar reviews, were named as a Pick of the Fringe, and were one of three selected shows (out of 405) to perform at New York City's SOHO Playhouse at the Fringe Encore Series.

Isaac’s voice is also pretty cool. He’s been listened to over 32 millions times on YouTube’s Dodo Kids Channel!

Isaac has studied improv at The Second City, Annoyance Theatre, iO Chicago, UCB, and with pretty much all of North America’s finest teachers. And for the past 12 years, Isaac’s training has focused on Clown, Mask, Idiot Work, Bouffon, and LeCoq-based Physical Theatre with world-renowned instructors Philippe Gaulier (mentor of Sacha Baron Cohen), Paola Coletto, John Gilkey, Deanna Fleysher, Dr. Brown (Philip Burgers), and Aitor Basauri of Spymonkey fame.

Come train with Isaac, Ken, and Gord at Sweet Action Theatre’s Ridiculous Institute of Funny, a brand new curriculum focusing on Creative play and Devised Theatre.
